NEC PC Engine

Since the NEC Turbografx 16 failed to gain a strong foothold in the North American videogame industry, it may come as a surprise to many that this system, known as the PC Engine in Japan, outperformed sales of Nintendo's Famicom for a while after its release. However, due to Nintendo's strangling exlusivity policy in North America, third party game developers were not allowed to release games for the TG-16 and other consoles in North America. This choked sales for the TG-16 in North America, while the system flourished in Japan. Masaya created several games for the PC Engine.
