Linna's Devotionals Page

This is a place for people to share their thoughts and feelings about Linna Yamazaki, and why she is their favorite Knight Saber.

I'm a new BGC fan, so my impression of Linna came from just the 8 episodes I've seen -- mainly episode 7, where in the final scene Linna slapped Vision to her senses. The moment of truth for me came after that, in the ending credits.

The ending theme song built up to a climax with this line: "These brand new days will never end, because thousands of lights color the shirt of my faded dreams..." The camera panned across Sylia, Priss then Linna. Linna's close-up faded in.

It was brief, she didn't say anything, she was watching Vision, but I felt like she could see right through me. Her face was seemingly expressionless to the point that its expression surpassed all words or gestures. Looking at her eyes was like looking down a deep, clear lake. The surface was clear and perfectly still, but you could look below it and see strong emotions running deep. They told of an infinitely compassionate Linna, one not frivolous or ditzy, but who looked on as Vision sang a most heart-wrenching song. Linna was totally focused, revealing great, yet quiet affection. That's the Linna that captivated me, and all this lasted a mere two seconds.

Some may say that Linna isn't a very important part of BGC. Some people think that she is just in the series to round out the Knight Sabers' forces. I am not one of those people. In my opinion, Linna is a very important part of BGC. She is the sane individual who, in the presence of nothing but extremes, has managed to act as a midpoint, without which the other elements of the story would become too normal and eventually redundant. BGC is not redundant, so I see Linna's purpose as quite artfully carried out. It is the fact that she is set apart from the other Sabers that endeared her to me. I enjoy watching her talk about things like her car and men while Priss laments over her GREAT pain and Sylia just gives the world the cold shoulder. Not that I don't like the other characters. They all have their own qualities. It is just that they always get more attention than Linna which is frustrating because I can it get in two or three words about Linna's personality, Which, I might add, is perhaps the only one in Megatokyo without some flaw in it. So, yes, I stand apart from the crowd, saying that Linna is my favorite character.

The true beauty of a character like Linna is that one must be able to relate to her. Even Sylia can make the claim of having something in common with Miss Yamazaki. Something about Linna exudes a calm during the constant storm that is MegaTokyo as portrayed in Bubblegum Crisis. Those who fail to see Linna as more than just a money-hungry, many-eating aerobics instructor have failed to grasp the meaning behind Bubblegum Crisis. If they cannot see how incredible and unique this character is, it can only be called their severe and unfortunate loss. Linna goes beyond the exterior of an attractive female and travels into a realm that takes far more talent than just another anime character. Linna is, in her own way, "every man," so to speak. For that, if only that, she deserves a great deal of recognition.

I love linna because she has a great figure, a pretty face, and a cute voice. She is hot. She is cool. She makes me go ga ga.

linna made an impression on me after episode two. there is somthing about her character that keeps me thinking. with all that she has dealt with in life, how does she manage to maintain such a positive facade even if she has lived through all this? also the theory commonly mentioned is that she is the "Everyman" character. and true, she comes across as more of the normal character. her true qualities hit you when you study characterization within the series. it may be for the more intelligent viewers who can get past the stereotypes of priss and nene. sylia and linna give you the mystery, and leave one with a want for more of this mystery. well at least i feel. but in all, she could be the baddest character on the series. but the writers seem to want to market rather than put their all into something that would be of quality. but i support linna and will not hesitate to tell so.

When I first became a fan of BGC(About a year ago), I wasn't too sure what to make of the characters. Slow as my understanding may be, the instant I saw the picture of Linna in the BGC Role-Playing Game book, a relasation hit me like a ton of bricks: I was in love. With a cartoon character. I kept telling myself it was pathetic, but still, I am one heck of a Linna devotee. Even now, a year later, I still have that picture in my mind when I sleep.

Why do I like Linna so much? I think the best question is "why not?" I mean, Linna is the most likable of the four Knight Sabers. I appreciate Sylia for her intelligence and mystery, Priss for her fiery rebellion, and Nene for her sweetness, but I really think that in Linna you find many of the best traits of all the characters. She has some of Sylia's realism, Priss' attitude, and Nene's kindness. She's so real that it's impossible to dislike her. Some people may not instantly fall in love with her, but the fact is that Linna is the most realistic, normal character from the series; the only one you'll meet while taking a stroll through a park or window-shopping at the mall. She has good qualities that anyone can see and many can enjoy. She doesn't need to be homocidal, overzealous, or super cute to be liked. She's the happy medium, and IMHO far more dire to the story than some of the more popular characters. Linna is humanity as it pertains to Bubblegum Crisis, and I like that. Without any extremes, Linna is essentially a real person, only animated instead of flesh and blood.

Linna is cute! Linna is hot!Linna is sexy! Linna is a cartoon charecter.....and a good looking one at that!..at least untill the new charecter designs! If I want Nabiki Tendo I'll watch Ranma 1/2!

Linna has become my favorite knight saber ever since the first time I watched episode #1. Her voice, her attitude, her charm, her hardsuit, everything about her is perfect. I have linna posters all over my room, as well as linna photos, a t-shirt, and even a tiny figurine. There should have been more emphasis on Linna and her story in the episodes. She's probably the most interesting KS, after sylia of course. Oh yeah, she is defenitely the sexiest anime character of all time.

My story is a rather interesting one. I was visiting the local card shop, and saw a new game called Ani-Mayhem. With my extra change, I decided to get a deck. On the ride home, I remember flipping through the cards. Ranma... Linna... Priss... Linna... Ryoko... Linna... I kept going back to that one character. Linna Yamazaki. It was, oddly, my love for Linna that led me to get interested in anime at all, let alone BGC in particular. She has something about her, perhaps her sense of realism, or even that slight hint of innocence. It may sound odd to be in love with a cartoon character, but if you're reading this, you probably understand.

The first time I realized that I was completely in love with Linna was episode 2 "Born to Kill", when she vowed to avenge the death of Vision's sister it moved me like nothing before. Her actions where more moving than those of Priss in episode 5 and 6 where I thought Priss' actions were more self-motivated than anything else. I would have to agree with some of the other devotionals that make the comment that Linna is the " Every Man " of the Knight Sabers.

What can you say about Linna? She's wonderful. She's kind, gentle, mature, outgoing, friendly, intelligent, beautiful, classy, rational... Or in short, she's just wonderful. She became my favorite Knight Saber in episode seven during the scene where she was following Reika from the the Saint Regis Hotel. In the ride on the bus a man smiled at her and she spun around as though embarrassed. Suddenly everything I had ever thought about Linna and all the stereotypes I had applied to her were washed away and replaced by an undying affection for the lovely, talented, WONDERFUL Linna Yamazaki.

I like Linna because she is normal compared to the people around her. Priss is always being the "bad" girl, Slvya is always stoic, and Nene is always wanting attention. One of the best things I like about Linna is her devotion to people, like in episode 2 where she is making friends with the wife of the deceased boomer techician. After She dies, Linna gets vengance on the boomer who did it. She didn't even know the girl that much, and she put her self on the line for her? That's why I like Linna.
