Ban Dai Variable Valkyrie

This was the first SF model I built with the help of my friend Ry when I was in high school. The thought of putting together a Japanese model kit when I could not read Japanese intimidated me, but Ry helped me overcome that. This was considered the "super model" for Macross Valkyries because not only was it transformable, but it was proportional. After building this model, I put together a red Millia Battroid made by ARII (IIRC), but the nose of the plane was stubby and not to the right proportions. My gripe with this model is that there is no place to put the gunpod in Fighter mode, and that when the rear ailerons fold up in the back in Gerwalk or Battroid mode, the hinges are fairly flimsy. I usually just keep this model in Gerwalk mode on my shelf.
