In 2016, I didn't really share much of my hobby show experiences for reasons I won't get into here. This year I was unable to attend the Shizuoka Hobby Show because I now no longer live in Shizuoka Prefecture. However, I was able to attend the All-Japan Model Hobby Show last month and had a great time. Here is a photo gallery of what I saw there.
First up is Kotobukiya's booth.
Zoids.
Yang Wenli is the first figure for the Legend of the Galactic Heroes line.
I'm sure somebody could tell you the difference between Megami Device and Frame Arms Girls, but I can't.
Are Frame Arms Girls androids, or real girls? I don't know what the premise is.
A Hatsune Miku Frame Arms Girls model is planned, called "Frame Music Girl." On the right was a large FA Girl on display.
Next is Modelkasten.
Modelkasten is the modeling brand for Model Graphix. There are decals, paints, figures, and more.
Next is Modelgraphix Magazine, which Modelkasten belongs to.
Left: Star Wars Modeling Archive is a collection of great photos of dioramas and such of Bandai's SW models. Right: Next is Giant Hobby, which imports Warhammer and Citadel products.
Hasegawa, YAY!
Hasegawa is probably my favorite model company.
Here is Kotobukiya's booth.
Right: Here we are now at the booth for Good Smile/Max Factory/Plamax. Yeah, it's all the same company.
These Plamax Minimum Factory 1:20 scale figures are fantastic. Plus they come with decals for the eyes.
Here is the Plamax 1:20 scale Super Valkyrie Gerwalk. Where are you going to put it? Despite its scale, it is a bit disappointing for its detail. Even Hasegawa's 1:72 scale Valkyrie kits have clear parts for the nav lights and such, but this Plamax kit doesn't even have that. Son, I am disappoint.
Right: Here's the small corner booth for newcomer Aquamarine. On display are their Nadesico kits.
Back at the Hasegawa booth.
