The All-Japan Model Hobby Show was held in September 2015. Yes, it has taken me seven months to finally get around to finally put together a photo album of this event. Why? Because I've been preocuppied, and also because I suck. Better late than never! You just won't get much witty commentary like I've provided in the past. (At least I think it's witty. I bet everyone else thinks I'm a dork.)
Here is the entrance to the event. First I'll show you Aoshima's booth.
These fire trucks are pretty cool-looking. There were three on display: a 1:72 scale fire truck with ladder, a 1:72 pumper truck with a neat drone, and a 1:24 scale small fire truck. As of writing this now, I have obtained the one with the drone, and am still looking forward to getting the cute little fire truck.
I'm not a fan of the Cyber Formula anime, but these race cars sure look cool! I believe they are designed by Shoji Kawamori, the mechanical designer behind Macross, Orguss, and plenty other anime.
These Arpeggio of Blue Steel kits are based off an anime in which old WWII battleships are resurrected by aliens or something. They come with very wild decals that are made to glow under blacklights.
Now here we are at the Bandai booth.
Here's the unveiling of the 1:144 Millenium Falcon from The Force Awakens, which was released the next month in October.
Here they are showing off the lighting kit for the Falcon, which can be only purchased directly through Bandai in Japan.
Here's the standard First Order TIE Fighter on the left and the two seater Special Forces TIE Fighter on the right. The two-seater version is the one in which Poe and Finn escape from the Star Destroyer in The Force Awakens.
Still waiting for a release date on the Poe Dameron version TFA X-Wing.
Bandai's S.H.Figuarts figures.
Left: The only new Yamato 2199 kit: a mecha collection version of the Gaideroll command ship. Right: It's Brian from Beaver Corp/HobbyLink Japan!
Left: Booth babes at Aoshima's booth. Right: Here's Tamiya's booth.
The new Mazda Roadster/Miata by Tamiya comes with a figure. Nice.
Right: Wave's booth.
Right: Wave makes video game arcade cabinet models. This one is of an Astro City running Virtua Fighter.
Lots of Votoms stuff at Wave's booth.
