Here is part 3 of the photo gallery.
At the Aoshima booth, they had the actual Mecha Godzilla movie prop suit on loan from Toho for the show.
The Macross Variable Fighter Girls (V.F.G.) series is being expanded. On the left is just a color variant, while the one on the right has some new parts. It's a cat girl with a different haircut, ears, and a larger bust.
There will be a Macross F VFG kit coming out in the future. Noticably missing was Aoshima's Silent Mobius kit, but Kaneda-san assured me that it will continue as planned.
Left: Captain Dyse from Future Boy Conan. Right: color variant for Cyber Formula GSX.
Right: The OH-1 Ninja kit is getting an anime decal update. Admittedly, this is fairly Hasegawa-inspired.
Plum exhibited at the show for the very first time! Until this year, I'd only seen them at the Wonder Festivals. They had a small corner display at the show.
Tamiya's booth had a new Fairlady Z kit on display.
This winter Tamiya will release an all-new tooling of the Spitfire Mk I in 1/72 scale. The old kit was available as a comparison. This new kit has improved detailing (rivets, etc), a fully detailed cockpit, photo etch parts (including seatbelts), and a thinner, clearer canopy which really enhances visibility into the cockpit. The canopy can be posed open or closed, and canopy masks are included. Decals are provided for three choices of livery. Due this winter.
Right: Here is Tamiya's new JGSDF Type 16 Maneuver Combat Vehicle. It's a tank on wheels. Aoshima had released this subject in 1:72 scale years ago. this Tamiya one is 1:35 scale.
Right: Tamiya will also release a 1/35 M3A1 Scout Car. It will come with five figures and will retail in November.
Right: Tamiya has released a newly-tooled 1/35 scale M551 Sheridan US Airborne Tank from the Vietnam War. Wire and mesh are included. A separately sold photo etch set comes with a metal barrel for maximum realism. On sale this winter. My friend Brian from Hobbylink Japan/Beaver Corp. told me that Tamiya had released a kit of the Sheridan a very long time ago, and a retooling is past due.
.
At the Gaia Notes booth, the plackard said that the line of Crusher Joe paints will consist of Sea Blue, Medium Red, and Dark Gray. This would lead me to believe that Hasegawa will release a red variant for the Crusher Joe Fighter to make Fighter 2.
So here I returned to the Fine Molds booth to take more pictures.
Here's that air filter for the Italian Messerschmitt.
So now I'm at the Beaver booth. This F-5F Tiger II kit by Kitty Hawk is 1:32 scale!
Right: HK Models in Hong Kong will release their JIBUNGOUS 1/32 scale Lancaster Mk I very soon. It will include optional clear fuselage parts to display the interior. The price is TBD.
Incidentally, Peter Jackson's Wingnut Wings will also be coming out with their 1/32 scale Lancaster Mk III, which has been in development for many long years. It is planned to coincide with Jackson's remake release of the iconic WWII classic movie "The Dam Busters." Only a placard for this was on display, so no price is yet known, and the release date is "mid-2019."
I was very excited about this display for Piece Models' Alice In Wonderland. Then Scott Hards told me that only the Card Soldier will be a model kit and that Alice and the rest will be sold as pre-painted figures. Crap. I was hoping that Alice would be a kit, with decals for eyes. NUTS.
Wolfpack Design had a striking 1/48 scale Japanese Marine Self Defense Force MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter. The tooling is by Academy.
Right: Taiwan's Freedom Kits is getting into the super deformed, cute plane genre.
Here I returned to the Platz booth to take more pictures of these beautiful JASDF F-15J kits.
Right: The last stop I made was at the Doyusha booth, where I bought an Su-47 Berkut kit by Hobby Boss.
Here is the JIBUNGOUS B-24J by Hobby Boss.
Doyusha is well-known for their castle kits.
