All-Japan Model Hobby Show 2017

October 2017

Here is the third and final page of my coverage of this event.

More of Tamiya's fabulous Messerschmitt.

Here is Pit Road's booth. Love that 1:48 Su-35S Flanker by Great Wall Hobby!

Here is Beaver's booth. On display is the new Phantom by Airfix.

Freedom Models has these fantastic 1:48 scale Taiwanese fighter jets. Freedom is a Taiwanese model company.

So cool.

Right: Here is Rocket Models, a new Japanese model company started by my friend Nao Sakakibara. Here is his Fist of War series of alternate timeline walking tanks. The premise of this model series is that World War II was extended by two years and Nazi scientists were able to develop a line of walking artillery.

Wave's booth has the upcoming 1:72 scale VF-4 Lightning III from Macross: Flashback!

It's unbelievable that the VF-4 is FINALLY becoming a styrene reality! Macross fans' prayers have been answered.

The Fine Molds booth. Their F-14 Tomcat had been a Model Graphix Magazine exclusive. Some parts have been corrected through retooling and this kit will now be made available as a regular purchase.

Here are comparisons of the corrected parts.

Thanks for viewing these images. My article for this event was published in the January 2018 issue of FineScale Modeler Magazine.
