Part 2!

All Japan Model Hobby Show 2014, part 2

October 2014

Here is the second part of this photo collection of the event.

Right: Here are the new and upcoming Yamato 2199 Mecha Collection model kits. These feature exquisite detail for such small kits! I am currently building the Yukikaze, and I believe that the Mecha Collection version is actually a bit larger than the 1:1000 scale version.

I'm very happy to see a Cosmo Zero Mecha Collection kit. I built the original version a while back. It's set to be released October 25th.

On the left is the Domelaze III, to be released in November. On the right is the Cosmo Falcon, which will come out in December. This Cosmo Falcon Mecha Collection kit was released in Dengeki Magazine as a bonus kit. Since then, it has become rare and gone up considerably in price. Fortunately, it is finally going to be released as a stand-alone kit for regular retail purchase.

Left: Here are the molds for the Mecha Collection kits. Right: Here's a gold-colored 1:500 scale Yamato kit. I'm not so wild about such "special color" versions of stuff.

Left: Here's a "Cosmo Reverse" version of the Yamato, to be released soon. Right: Here's a 1:1000 scale Nasca kit, due out in December. The Gatlantians can be seen fighting against the Gamilus in an episode of 2199. The upcoming Yamato 2199 movie in December is a side-story movie in which the Yamato encounters the Gatlantians. I am betting that they are going to make a remake of the second Space Battleship Yamato series, which I enjoyed even more than the original.

OK, so now here we are at Aoshima's booth.

Left: I can confirm by myself that these Back To The Future DeLorean cars by Aoshima are just repops of their old models, and not retoolings. Right: Painting demonstrations at GSI Creos's booth.

These are basically like Tamiya's Accent Colors, for enamel washes and panel lines.

GSI Creos sells Mr. Color paint sets.

Right: This Tomcat was just some diorama that was on display at Model Graphix Magazine's booth, IIRC.

OK, more Star Wars goodness, only this time it's at Kotobukiya's booth.

See? Note that C-3PO's head looks nicer than the Bandai model kit. Perhaps some accuracy was sacrificed for the sake of articulation?

Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyoujin) figures.

Left: This is the Nautilus at the end of the Nadia series.

A new Super Robot Taisen model.

Here's the Gaia Notes booth.

This interesting device by Gaia Notes is a cheaper alternative to using an airbrush.

Here we have Kanagawa Prefecture's Pit Road, with their JASDF F-15 planes.

Right: Here is a very intricate, lit train model set. I was very impressed!

Check out the matsuri event, complete with tiny lanterns!

So that is it for the photo gallery. Be sure to check out the videos I took of the event:
